Uche Fuels Comfortable Palace Victory at Shelbourne.

Even though entering their first-ever continental campaign, Crystal Palace are learning at a rapid pace. Missing key players like striker Jean-Philippe Mateta and defender Daniel Muñoz, the Eagles left Dublin with a comfortable result that all but guarantees them a spot in the Conference League playoffs.

Another victory in their next match against Finnish KuPS should be enough to secure direct passage to the knockout stages, particularly following a prior setback against Strasbourg.

Fringe Players Grasp the Moment

This occasion offered a chance for several Palace's fringe players to shine. Christantus Uche, making only his second start after joining on loan from Getafe, notched the scoring with a clinical finish. Forward Eddie Nketiah contributed a second, scoring for the second consecutive succession.

A Shelbourne team that had finished their domestic season proved no match against a largely second-string Palace outfit. The Londoners were already depleted by the reports that Mateta and Muñoz are sidelined with leg problems.

Esse was desperately unlucky later on, seeing one shot crash off each posts before being gathered on the line. Uche also missed a glaring chance, indicating there is still room for development in his game.

The only worry for Palace was a second-half injury to Justin Devenny, who was forced off. This allowed 17-year-old forward Benji Casey to make his senior debut, rounding off an otherwise positive evening for the traveling side.
